Integrating renewable energy resources with electrical systems has resulted in positive economic and environmental impacts. This project highlights the significance of sustainable energy as an alternative to other power generation techniques such as fossil fuels.

 

Gulf Corporation Countries (GCC) are exposed to high levels of solar insolation throughout the majority of the year. Therefore, the use of photovoltaics (PV) is a clean and viable source of energy for applications in the GCC region.

 

This project proposes a residential scale power generation method based on photovoltaics to meet electrical load demands for a Qatar based house. To further understand the nature of the electrical load behaviors, different load profiles need to be examined. Due to the mismatch between the PV generation and load profiles, energy storage units such as batteries would be needed to ensure that the load demands are met throughout the day.
